The music collective Höstorkestern was formed in Kiruna in 2013, and over the years has grown to almost 30 members. They tour in different sizes, the expression varies with the members participating on stage. Rock is mixed with folk music, which is mixed with pop and blues.

The basis is always socially critical prog from Malmfälten and Tornedalen.

Höstorkester has released three full-length albums and an EP on meänkieli, where a language lost for some of the members is regained.

 

The next full-length album will be released in autumn/winter 2024 together with the documentary "En sista välvi för Folkets Hus", a story about the city move in Kiruna, about the people's movement in Sweden and the new society where people's common spaces are pushed aside in favor of ostentatious construction and big finance.
